This week
the challenge over on the blog is to create a red, white, and blue Independence/military hero celebration. A colour challenge? Love those! Military men? Lots of those in my family! U.S. Independence? Celebrating my third year as a citizen! So, yeah, I made a little something... and here she is:
I knew I wanted to do something that wasn't the traditional red, white, and navy, so I started with the ringmaster from
Under the Big Top. I coloured him in using the sky and cherry Tombow markers and some diluted navy ink and a waterbrush. I used a star image from
Cool Yule to mimic a fireworks display. Then I grounded him with some lines from
Mad for Plaids in navy and balanced the heavy right side of the card with another set of lines in the lighter sky ink.
You have until Saturday, July 13 at 11:59 MST to
link up your creation. So get to it!
