Summer is Blossoming

...and so are we. At least, we're creating some gorgeous florals with paper and ink over on the challenge blog this week.

Here's my entry:
This pretty peony was coloured with various Tombow markers, spritzed with water, and stamped on to some sugar cardstock. Once I removed my acrylic block, I realised that the flower was a little too undefined. So I went back with the line art image and my stamp-a-ma-jig to make it more "flower" and less "smudge". LOL. The frame was created using some a|s washi tape on a vanilla cardstock base. A little fussy cutting, foam dots, some french roast pearls, a cocoa sentiment and I was done!

Ready for a close up?

The markers I used were: apricot, buttercup, and squash. I really like the way this turned out, so I'll definitely be trying it again soon.

Why don't you ink up your pretty floral stamps and join us? You have until 11:59 pm MST on Saturday, August 10 to link up your project. See you there...

All About Colour

...is the challenge on the blog this week. And we'd love to see some of your favourite colour combos make an appearance.

I started with my new favourite colour - Mermaid.  I thought I'd let it shine by pairing it with Sugar and a touch of Onyx. So I ended up with this beauty:

A sugar panel was stamped with screenprint background and then swiped around the edges using mermaid ink and tied with onyx baker's twine. The sentiment comes from say it with style.

You have until Saturday, June 1 at 11:59MST to link up your creation for a chance to win a fantastic A Muse Studio prize.

See you there!

Supplies Used
stamps: say it with style, screenprint background
cardstock: sugar
ink: mermaid, versafine black onyx

Colour Your World

Sadly, I was a little late in posting my project with my fellow DT on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog.  Lucky for you there's still a whole 2 weeks for you to enter. So head on over to the Challenge Blog and submit your entry today. The rules for this challenge are as follows: colour, colour, colour. Use your chalks, markers, watercolours, inks, whatever you like to colour in some portion of your project. You're allowed to use whatever supplies you own, however if your project includes A Muse Studio products it will count as two entries.

Now on to my little project. This little beauty was made using one of the May spotlight stamp sets - Papillon - available at a 10% discount this month only. My gorgeous butterfly was stamped in Titian ink and coloured with Papaya and Orange Tombow markers. I masked off the butterfly on the Vanilla panel and second generation stamped the Extraordinary background in Titian, sponging the edges in Papaya ink. The panel was then added to a Titian mat and the butterfly coloured again using a Copic Spica glitter pen in clear. Polka Dot Patterns was stamped to a Vanilla card base using Papaya ink and a length of Titian ribbon wrapped around the card before the image panel was added. The sentiment was created with the Woodgrain background in Papaya, Say It With Style in Titian and die cut using the Cupcake Toppers dies and mounted with foam tape. Nice and flat for mailing.

May is definitely the month to "Colour Your World" with all A Muse Studio branded inks on sale at 20% off. It's a great time to stock up or try out our beautiful inks.
