A Little More Scent-imental

So today I'm sharing the rest of the cards I created during my crafty session with scent-imental by PTI. When you're on a roll it's so easy to keep going. Look at all the pretty paper...

Here's the start of round two - the melon. I love this stamp. I love that the folks at PTI were able to keep all the parts separate so that you can ink up the melon in different colours, yet keep it simple enough that it was easy to create the final image. And that sentiment brings a smile to my face...

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with the Kisses. The wrappers are usually silver and I don't own any silver inks. Then I remembered I had some gold embossing powder and this little gem was born. The background paper is from the Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 pad.

Next up is the cup of tea, just the way I like it - with a little touch of steam rising from the cup. I used some patterned paper scraps to cover the card base.

And last, but not least, the pumpkin. Once again, I used some scraps of patterned paper. I really love that I'm using up my supplies right now, making room for some of that great new stuff on my wishlist. All the journaling cards were edged with  Touch Twin Brush Marker BR134. The pumpkin is covered in Wink of Stella Clear and sealed with clear embossing since this card might make its way to OWH this year.

So there you have it. One more stamp set down, many more to go. Use Your Stamps 2014 is officially underway!

Touch Twin Thursday

Hello all.

I've been colouring up a storm with my Touch Twins. I find colouring very relaxing, particularly at the end of a difficult day. That means I've got lots of completed images ready to be turned into cards.

Here's the first: Dressy Mae (digi) by Some Odd Girl

I started with a sketch I found on Splitcoast Stampers - Sketch Challenge 466. The patterned papers are from MME So Sophie and Authentique Delightful. A sentiment from PTI Little Labels was stamped on a die cut from MFT Mix & Match Banner. Dressy Mae was coloured on Crafter's Companion White and cut out using my new MFT Pierced Ovals. Since I like to keep things fairly simple, I don't use multiple layers often, so all my papers and die cuts were edged in black using the Touch Twin 120 marker.

For all you Touch Twin lovers, here are the colours I used on Dressy Mae:

Supplies Used
stamps: SOG Dressy Mae (digi), PTI Little Labels
cardstock: Crafter's Companion White, PTI Select White, MME So Sophie Graceful, Authentique Delightful
ink: Versafine Onyx Black, ShinHan Art Touch Twin Brush
other: MFT Mix & Match Banners, MFT Pierced Ovals, a|s clear twinkles, SC466

Until next time...

SOG September 2013 Sketch

I found a little time to colour the adorable Big Pressie Tia and create a card for a friend's granddaughter.

My starting point for the layout was the Some Odd Girl sketch for September. I used some EP Hello Summer papers to cover a white card base, cut some a|s sugar cardstock with a Spellbinders Labels 8 die and spritzed it with a|s Splash ink in lemon whip. The sentiment was stamped on a Wplus9 banner die cut. Tia was trimmed out, covered in Versamark ink, and embossed with a half & half mix of clear embossing powder and Prisma glitter.

Sharing my colour combos for all the Touch Twin users out there:

Supplies Used
stamps: SOG Big Pressie Tia, PTI  Fillable Frames 4
ink: touch twin alcohol markers, versafine onyx black, a|s lemon whip splash, versamark
cardstock: Crafter's Companion White, a|s sugar
other: Spellbinders labels 8 die, Wplus9 banner trio dies, Ranger super fine detail clear embossing powder, Prisma glitter

Kisses by Mo Manning

While surfing the 'net recently, I came across some card samples using digital stamps by Mo Manning. I found her site, checked out her stamps and fell in love. I really like that she has a few images available in more than one ethnicity, perfect for me as I try out new skin colour combinations with my Touch Twin Brush markers. So I bought a few stamps and today I'm sharing my first creation - Kisses.

I wanted to experiment with a darker skin tone and use some of my fluorescent markers, and I managed to do both with this card. The bright colours and that sweet little kissy face make me so very happy. I used OWH sketch 191 as my starting point, but ended up with pinked edges instead of the fishtail banner. The papers are from Echo Park Hello Summer and were coloured with F123 to make a better match to her dress. I added a sentiment from A Muse Studio Just Because and called it done.

For all the Touch Twin users out there, here are the colour combos I used for this sweet little image:

I'm entering my bright and cheerful card in Mo's Digital Challenge this week - say it with flowers. I'm also entering it into the Color Me Creative challenge - Anything Goes.

Hugs and Kisses.

Supplies Used
stamps: Kisses (Mo's Digital Pencil), Just Because (A Muse Studio)
paper: sugar (a|s), Crafter's Companion White, Hello Summer (EP)
ink: versafine onyx black, touch twin brush alcohol markers
other: large square (Spellbinders), pinking shears

Some SOG-ie Love

Today I'm sharing a card I made a few weeks ago for a coworker who wanted something for a friend's birthday. I remembered that the same friend had gotten married last year, and my coworker - the bridesmaid - had worn a pink dress. So I figured that would be a good colour to incorporate in my card. And since I had just gotten some new (to me) Some Odd Girl stamps, I knew I had to use one.

My starting point was Cardabilities Sketch 77 and some A Muse Studio Splash inks.

I cut a circle and used it as a mask to create a pattern on white cardstock, then mounted it on some black, and rounded one corner. I stamped Big Wishes Mae in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with some Touch Twin Brush markers. The sentiment and flag banners are from the Celebration Mae set.

Today I'm sharing the second half of my 10 cards 1 kit using the Spellbinders card kit - Golden Swan. I had lots of fun with this kit ...
