SOG September 2013 Sketch

I found a little time to colour the adorable Big Pressie Tia and create a card for a friend's granddaughter.

My starting point for the layout was the Some Odd Girl sketch for September. I used some EP Hello Summer papers to cover a white card base, cut some a|s sugar cardstock with a Spellbinders Labels 8 die and spritzed it with a|s Splash ink in lemon whip. The sentiment was stamped on a Wplus9 banner die cut. Tia was trimmed out, covered in Versamark ink, and embossed with a half & half mix of clear embossing powder and Prisma glitter.

Sharing my colour combos for all the Touch Twin users out there:

Supplies Used
stamps: SOG Big Pressie Tia, PTI  Fillable Frames 4
ink: touch twin alcohol markers, versafine onyx black, a|s lemon whip splash, versamark
cardstock: Crafter's Companion White, a|s sugar
other: Spellbinders labels 8 die, Wplus9 banner trio dies, Ranger super fine detail clear embossing powder, Prisma glitter

Hugs and Kisses.

Some SOG-ie Love

Today I'm sharing a card I made a few weeks ago for a coworker who wanted something for a friend's birthday. I remembered that the same friend had gotten married last year, and my coworker - the bridesmaid - had worn a pink dress. So I figured that would be a good colour to incorporate in my card. And since I had just gotten some new (to me) Some Odd Girl stamps, I knew I had to use one.

My starting point was Cardabilities Sketch 77 and some A Muse Studio Splash inks.

I cut a circle and used it as a mask to create a pattern on white cardstock, then mounted it on some black, and rounded one corner. I stamped Big Wishes Mae in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured her with some Touch Twin Brush markers. The sentiment and flag banners are from the Celebration Mae set.

Triple the Fun!

The challenge over at the A Muse Studio Challenge blog this week is to create your project using three different embellishments: ribbons, flowers, and buttons. Since I'm still trying to complete my own person challenge of making at least 5 new cards with my Cool Yule stamp set, I decided to combine both challenges. Here's the result:

I started out by adding some A Muse Studio holiday washi tape to a piece of wasabi cardstock and cutting the finished piece to form "hills". Next, I took some flowers from the a|s Meadow Mix pack, cut them in half, and adhered them to my washi patterned paper hills to mimic snow. I stamped and fussy cut a bunch of trees in wasabi, fern, and sage, and added them to the hills at different levels to fill in my "forest".

I cut a panel of a|s winter sky woodgrain paper, used a glue pen to add some random spots, and then sprinkled on some a|s diamond glitter. One hill was added directly to the winter sky woodgrain and the second was popped up on some foam tape, then added to a panel of rialto cardstock which was in turn adhered to a vanilla card base.

I'm not much of a button girl and have no a|s buttons in my stash yet, so I had to improvise. Luckily I remembered I had some shrink plastic I had bought to do a project with my niece on her next visit. The shrink plastic was cut out with the third largest Spellbinders Small Circles die, punched with the largest hole on the Crop-A-Dile, stamped with the Woodgrain background in wasabi ink on the front and covered with wheat ink in the back, then blasted with my heat tool until I got a "button". I stamped and trimmed out the sentiment on vanilla cardstock, then added my button and a ribbon loop and attached them directly to the card.

I've got a few more ideas for this Cool Yule stamp set, so stick around - 3 more to go...

Hugs and Kisses,
TraceyJ

Christmas in July

A fellow A Muse Studio consultant, Melinda, has issued herself a challenge to create 100 cards in 100 days. I've been following the posts on her blog and she has inspired me to try to create as many cards as I can come up with each week for each of the a|s stamp sets I currently own. Tall order, I know. So I decided to start with my newest set (which I just received) Cool Yule, hence today's title. Here's my first creation:

For this card I used one tree from the set and stamped it randomly all over a piece of a|s kraft using french roast ink, then rounded to top corners and sponged the edges. I die cut a bubble tag from the Classic Tags set, trimmed down the sides and cut the bottom with some pinking shears, stamped my sentiment, and sponged the edges with some lime ink.

I added two lines of tape, heat embossed some a|s Simple Stick, and added some lime glitter. Then I wrapped some lime satin ribbon around the kraft panel and tied a knot. My die cut tag was added with some glue dots. The entire panel was then added to a kraft card base with some foam dots.

I'm a real fan of this combo and I may be trying this again with all the other shades of glitter I've got. Love that shiny, shimmery stuff.

There's still time to enter the Christmas in July challenge over at the A Muse Studio Challenge blog.

Stay tuned to see my next happy holiday creation...

Hugs and kisses.

My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #1

So I'm finally getting to play along with a challenge from NSD. I've been battling the 'flu for days, but I'm finally starting to feel a little human again. And here it is: Anything Cupcake.
This little cupcake card was made with the Sweet Treats cartridge and some Bazzill Kraft cardstock for a base. I added a little detail with a white Souffle pen and some embossing powder mixed with Prisma Glitter. Some PTI Library Ledger paper was used to make the "wrapper" and Basic Grey Euphoria paper was used for the frosting and heart.

Enjoy!
