Hello all. Today I'm sharing the first of my Sushi Dolls April DT projects using the adorable Fae & Fox. I thought I'd attempt to colour Fae and her little fox friend using my limited supply of Copic markers and my new Copic airbrush. The result is two cards that I'm really proud of.
Here's number one:
Cute, right? Susi draws the most darling images. She makes me look good.
Here's card number two:
So sweet. And maybe a little more sophisticated.
Here's another look at the Sushi Dolls April 2014 release.
Head on over to Susi's store and get a few digis of your very own. Then make something and join the conversation on our Sushi Dolls Facebook page. I look forward to seeing you there...

Midweek Sushi
I'm here to get you take you into the weekend by sharing a few new creations with you.
First up is Sushi Doll AniC. She is just so adorable.
I coloured her using Touch Twin brush markers and cut her out using a Lifestyle Crafts circle die. That sweet flower in her hair had me thinking Hawaii, so I diecut "Aloha" with the new a|s Tall Alpha dies and adhered my sentiment to a Terracotta Tile circle. Some patterned paper from the Echo Park Sweet Day pack was added to a white card base before I assembled the card.
Supplies Used:
Next, is Sushi Doll MingNa.
MingNa was also coloured using Touch Twin brush markers. I was inspired by a recent Marker Pop challenge to colour an image using various blues, so I chose a few blues and got to work. Her hair is coloured with markers from the blue grey family. Square Spellbinders Nestabilities were used to diecut both MingNa and a mat in a|s ocean. Patterned paper is from MME Happy Day and the sentiment is from the a|s set, Friend to Friend.
Supplies Used:
As a reminder, here are the stamps released in August.
September will be here soon with a whole new set of Sushi Dolls to enjoy. I can't wait to share what Susi has in store for you...

School's in Session...
So this is the week that the big yellow buses are back on the road as students return to school. In honour of the occasion, I've made a little something from the Sushi Dolls Special August Release. Whether you're a sweet little newbie headed to your very first class ever, or an old coot like me trying to add a few more credits to get that all important degree, here's a little encouragement...
This very (deceptively) simple card took quite some time to create. Somehow, for me, CAS just translates into forever and a day, which is seriously funny since I can't seem to multiple layer to save my life. But I digress...
My dear Mrs. Sherwyn was coloured with Touch Twin Brush Markers. Once she was completely dry, I went back in with my B143 marker just over the lens of the glasses to give the suggestion of a tint and differentiate that area from the rest of her face. I fussy cut her out and adhered her to the edge of a mini chalkboard from an old Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, stuck two layers of pop dots to her head and pencil, and added it all to an embossed piece of cardstock.
If you're a Touch Twin user, here are the colour combos I used for this project:
Mrs. Sherwyn and the rest of the special Sushi Dolls release for back to school are available on Susi's site. Why not create a pick-me-up for someone's lunch box today using one of these adorable images?

Birthdays with Sushi Dolls Abby Cupcake
Happy Sunday. Today I'm sharing a little project I created with the adorable Abby Cupcake digi from the Sushi Dolls Collection. I discovered the sweet Sushi Dolls images while surfing YouTube during my lunch break one day. Naturally, I got home and couldn't find the video right away, so it took a few days of searching to find it again and locate the digis I wanted. (Let that be a lesson to like the video the moment you see something you want to try my crafty friends.)
My visit to Sushi Dolls creator Susi's blog, led me to her newest DT call, so I decided to take a shot and here's my entry:
I enjoyed colouring Abby so much, I ended up creating a set of three cards. The girls were coloured using Touch Twin Brush alcohol markers. The same markers were used for skin and hair, but varied so I could give them all slightly different hair and skin tones while keeping a cohesive whole. I'd like to think I succeeded just a little. Ready for some closeups?
Peach Abby was the first to get coloured. She was inspired by my new Coral Sunset nail polish which I purchased last weekend. (Random, I know.) I just looked down at my hands and thought, "wouldn't this colour make a tasty cupcake?" So I experimented with a few colour combos and ended up with this beauty.
Touch Twins Used: YR132 YR133 BR107 R140 (skin) BR103 BR96 BR92 R1 (hair) R140 R28 R22 R14 CG0.5 CG1 CG2 (cupcake)
Since I was still in a colouring mood, I coloured up skin and hair on two more stamps. Then I remembered that YouTube ad where the presenter shows you how to decorate a cake and add a doll to the center, so I made my second Abby pink like that Barbie doll cake.
Touch Twins Used: YR132 YR133 BR107 RP7 (skin) BR103 BR96 BR92 R1 (hair) RP7 RP9 RP198 RP138 CG0.5 CG1 CG2 (cupcake)
Abby Cupcake number three was inspired by the paper pad I decided to use: MME Happy Day. I just loved the combination of colours in the papers and chose to work with the blue because I knew they would all complement each other.
Touch Twins Used: YR132 YR133 BR107 R18 (skin) BR103 BR96 BR92 R1 (hair) B68 B67 B65 B63 CG0.5 CG1 CG2 (cupcake)
I hope you like these cards half as much as I enjoyed creating them.
Hugs and Kisses.
