Spellbinders Feb 2019 Card Kit Part Two

Today I'm sharing the second half of my 10 cards 1 kit using the Spellbinders card kit - Golden Swan.

I had lots of fun with this kit and I'm trying to use up all the ephemera (there are tons!), so you'll definitely be seeing more cards from this kit in the near future.

Spellbinders Feb 2019 Card Kit Part One

Hey all,
So today I have a new experiment - a 10 cards 1 kit video!

I decided to try my hand at making a video. Now there will be a lot of learning in the coming weeks, but this was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to doing it again.

Enjoy!

Flutterby Special

Two posts in two days? There's some excitement here on the old blog-o this week! I know I haven't been here for a while. I was dealing with a few personal issues that left the mojo in a ditch. Not to mention a lost camera battery so photography was also on hold.

Then, wonder of wonders, I learned my mom was being honored for her contributions to education over the course of her career. So it was off to Jamaica for some family time and a little "sun in the fun". I got to see my sister and her kiddos, and of course, watch my mom receive her award. At this point, the camera battery had been found and charged and... left at home! LOL. Luckily I had my phone and my momma's camera so I was still able to get some photos of the happy event. Hurray. Hurray. But... if I share those photos I may lose "preferred daughter status", so here are a few cards instead.

The sentiment on this first card is absolutely meant for my amazing mom. I feel so lucky to have her in my life. And I hope I make her feel the same - when I'm not making her crazy. LOL.

I tried a little inlaid die-cutting using the SSS Devonshire and Paulina butterfly dies, white cardstock, and my Touch Twin markers. There is also some Distress inking and a|s Splash! spray on the top panel.

Here's my second attempt:

And, yes, this one also goes out to a very special lady. Love you momma!

Supplies Used

ink: Memento london fog, SSS black, Distress dried marigold, a|s Splash! in bermuda & winter sky

Sushi Dolls - Fae & Fox

Hello all. Today I'm sharing the first of my Sushi Dolls April DT projects using the adorable Fae & Fox. I thought I'd attempt to colour Fae and her little fox friend using my limited supply of Copic markers and my new Copic airbrush. The result is two cards that I'm really proud of.

Here's number one:

Cute, right? Susi draws the most darling images. She makes me look good.

Here's card number two:

So sweet. And maybe a little more sophisticated.

Here's another look at the Sushi Dolls April 2014 release.

A Little More Scent-imental

So today I'm sharing the rest of the cards I created during my crafty session with scent-imental by PTI. When you're on a roll it's so easy to keep going. Look at all the pretty paper...

Here's the start of round two - the melon. I love this stamp. I love that the folks at PTI were able to keep all the parts separate so that you can ink up the melon in different colours, yet keep it simple enough that it was easy to create the final image. And that sentiment brings a smile to my face...

I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with the Kisses. The wrappers are usually silver and I don't own any silver inks. Then I remembered I had some gold embossing powder and this little gem was born. The background paper is from the Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder 6x6 pad.

Next up is the cup of tea, just the way I like it - with a little touch of steam rising from the cup. I used some patterned paper scraps to cover the card base.

And last, but not least, the pumpkin. Once again, I used some scraps of patterned paper. I really love that I'm using up my supplies right now, making room for some of that great new stuff on my wishlist. All the journaling cards were edged with  Touch Twin Brush Marker BR134. The pumpkin is covered in Wink of Stella Clear and sealed with clear embossing since this card might make its way to OWH this year.

So there you have it. One more stamp set down, many more to go. Use Your Stamps 2014 is officially underway!

A Little Bit Scent-imental

Today I'm sharing a few projects as part of the Use Your Stamps challenge issued by Susan Rahaila of Simplicity blog fame.

This time, I started out with the Scent-imentals stamp set by Papertrey Ink. I received this set during their Stamp-A-Faire event last year and never inked it up. But that all changed when I got the stitched journaling card die set by Lawn Fawn and inspiration struck. Take a look...

I used one basic layout to create a card set using each of the Scent-imentals images.

It all started with the gingerbread man, that sweet "you warm my heart" sentiment, and the tiny heart dies in the journaling card die set. I wanted that stitched die to take center stage, so I stamped my gingerbread man in the center, added the sentiment, and adhered the die cut to a piece of PTI patterned paper. Next I took one of the little heart dies, inked it up with berry sorbet ink, and added a little glossy accents to make it shine.

I liked the gingerbread man so much that I just die cut a bunch more journaling cards and got to work stamping each of the other images in the stamp set. Next up was the cherries.

Then I turned to the peach. I joined together two small scraps of patterned paper and punched a scalloped edge to add a little interest. I covered the peach with my new Wink of Stella pen and then clear embossed it once it was dried.

Supply List

Tomorrow I'll share the other cards in the set. Stay tuned...

Hugs and Kisses.
