It has been forever and a day since I posted something on the ol' blog. So today I thought I'd share a project created during the great computer crash of 2013. I have quite a few cards from that dark time that I (hopefully) took photos of before sending them out; which means you'll be seeing quite a few Christmas cards soon. LOL.
I started with an older Mojo Monday sketch - #245.
Then I picked some A Muse Studio cardstock that was already on my desk - candy cane stripe and cherry. A few lines drawn with a blue Tombow marker altered the candy cane stripes enough so that it was not so Christmas-sy. A few die cuts, some bermuda cardstock and a sentiment from A Muse Studio Making a Difference finished off the card.
Supplies Used
stamps - mod backgrounds 1, making a difference
cardstock - a|s sugar, cherry, bermuda, candy cane stripe, cherry polka dots
ink - versafine onyx black, a|s sky
other - Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle dies, a|s star trio dies, WRMK corner chomper, Copic multiliner, tombow markers
Hope your week is off to a great start!
Hugs and Kisses.

Blossoming Summer
Here's a little quickie bit of inspiration for this week's challenge: stamped flowers.
I wanted to try some colouring on kraft, so I stamped some Floral Duet in Versamark, embossed in white, and got out my Tombow Markers. I think I liked the way it turned out.
Why don't you give it a try. Stamp some flowers and join the challenge. You have until Saturday.
Supplies used (all A Muse Studio)
stamps: floral duet, contemporary greetings
cardstock: kraft, sugar, vellum
ink: versamark, versafine onyx black
other: tombow markers (025, 703, 847, 856, 899, 912, 933, 947, 993)
Hugs and Kisses.

3 Cheers for the Red White & Blue
This week the challenge over on the blog is to create a red, white, and blue Independence/military hero celebration. A colour challenge? Love those! Military men? Lots of those in my family! U.S. Independence? Celebrating my third year as a citizen! So, yeah, I made a little something... and here she is:
I knew I wanted to do something that wasn't the traditional red, white, and navy, so I started with the ringmaster from Under the Big Top. I coloured him in using the sky and cherry Tombow markers and some diluted navy ink and a waterbrush. I used a star image from Cool Yule to mimic a fireworks display. Then I grounded him with some lines from Mad for Plaids in navy and balanced the heavy right side of the card with another set of lines in the lighter sky ink.
You have until Saturday, July 13 at 11:59 MST to link up your creation. So get to it!
Supplies Used
stamps: cool yule, mad for plaids, under the big top
cardstock: sugar
ink: navy, sky

Beautiful Blooms
Hey there. This week on the a|s challenge blog we're asking you to share some beautiful blooms with us.
Here in Florida, it's hurricane season which means lots of rain and, yes, lots and lots of those beautiful blooms. Every day is a riot of colour as the warm sunshine and midday showers bring more and more blooms to life.
I've been obsessed with He is Risen since the 2013 A Muse Studio catalogue came out, so I chose to ink up and colour that gorgeous flower today. And here it is:
This beautiful bloom was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Sugar Cardstock and coloured with Tombow Markers (apricot, papaya, grass, lime, sky). The stamped panel was then sponged with Latte Ink and adhered to a Vanilla card base. The sentiment is from Letterpress Greetings - a stamp set that ships with a set of sugar notecards ready for stamping.
So, what are you waiting for? Go get floral...
Hugs and Kisses.

Retiring? Pffft!
It's time once again to create something for the ol' challenge blog. This week we're using up those retired/retiring/oldie-but-goodies we've got lying around.
My card uses the first ever A Muse Studio stamp I ever purchased - The Scoop - which is (sadly) being retired on February 28. You can find the retiring list on my website or on this blog post. In the meantime, let's get to the good stuff:
This very CAS number is made with sugar and french roast cardstocks, Tombow markers, and a 1" square punch which I unfortunately used before my colouring was dry. Ooops! The images and sentiment are stamped in nutmeg ink.
You have two weeks to dig out your oldies and give them a workout, so get to it!
Hugs and kisses, TraceyJ

Something New and A Fave
It's me again, with little something I made for the ongoing A Muse Studio Consultants Challenge Blog I'm hosting this week. And here she is:
This card was made using a stamp set I purchased recently called Love is in the Air. It's one of the sets found in the Valentine catalog. I stamped the buildings on watercolour paper, coloured it with my favourite (and first ever owned) Tombow markers in slate, eucalyptus, apricot, and sky, and a water brush. I tried to colour in a lovely wash of sky, but used a little too much eucalyptus and ended up with something much darker than I intended. So, on to Plan B, which was to fussy cut the buildings and add them to a sugar card base with a strip of slate cardstock as the "ground". I then die cut my favourite a|s clouds dies which are (sadly) being retired, and swiped on a little eucalyptus and sky using the markers and waterbrush. The sentiment came from a couple of different sets: No Peeking and Greetings Earthling.
You can check out a few projects from my fellow DT members here.
I hope you'll make time to join us at the challenge blog this week. Remember the challenge is to combine something new with your papercrafting fave. You have until January 26th to link up your projects and be entered to win some Splash! Inks.
Hugs and Kisses.
